Description

Rustic lakeshore cabin used in filming the famous "woodchipper" scene from movie FARGO. Measures 18 x 36 feet, and must be removed from lot, disassembled or whole. Includes 1950 circa working appliances and wood burning stove. In solid, excellent condition. Located 7 miles north of Stillwater, Minnesota. Bid is for cabin and furnishings, only. Land is not part of this offer. I'm building a house on the lot, and the cabin cannot remain. Chimney "stack" will have to be dismantled before removal, but cabin sits on concrete pilings and should be relatively easy to move. There is no running water, indoor plumbing or insulation in the cabin, just a lot of great Academy Award and Coen brothers memories!
On Apr-23-02 at 17:57:42 PDT, seller added the following information:

Hello bidders, The reserve on the Fargo Cabin is $10,000 which is the salvage value of the raw materials, including the circa 1950 appliances and the woodburning stove. All of these items are included with the cabin. I've talked to (3) movers in the Stillwater area and the cost to move the cabin will be approx.$5,000 to $10,000 over and above the cabin price depending on the distance. If the reserve bid is reached I will throw in a used wood chipper.(you'll have to supply the body parts....just kidding!)

The cabin should be removed by the end of April, 2002. Should you require a house mover I can provide you with local sources that can move and store the cabin for a period of time. Should you want a carpenter to dismantle the cabin, I can also provide you with names of several competent local firms. Buyer will bear the cost of removal or dismantling of the cabin.
